Creative and driven to make things happen, Kirk is a highly skilled and motivated individual able to work across multidisciplinary fields and translate progressive sustainability legislation into commercial success.
Consistently working between the board, the development site and the customer, Kirk has developed excellent mediation and influencing skills, combined with strong leadership and direction to steer businesses’ corporate sustainability objectives.
As Head of Sustainability for Fairview New Homes, Kirk was responsible for creating the business case for championing sustainability in the business. This brief accounted for the need to ensure the business remained competitive in its response to progressive sustainability legislation and turned sustainable development from a money-draining venture into a profitable business.
Kirk now works for Fairview New Homes as a retained consultant to provide a continued role in support of the company's ongoing response to this highly impactful agenda.
Before working for a major developer, Kirk was instrumental in developing the Energy Saving Trust's Renewable Energy advice portfolio.
This resulted in flagship market transformation programmes, like the 'Low Carbon Buildings Programme', which helped stimulate demand for renewable energy technologies for the embryonic renewables industry in the UK.
Over his career, Kirk has represented previous employers and trade associations on numerous pan-industry and government backed working forums and acted as chairman on various high-ranking environmental steering groups across different government departments and agendas.
